Garland Berry Lohr

Garland Berry Lohr, "Red Ripper' 78 of Archdale passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at his home. Born October 4, 1947, in Guilford County he is a son of the late Hubert Daniel Lohr and Bercelia Margaret Heilig Lohr. Mr. Lohr is a 10-year veteran of the US Navy where he served as a flight deck director. After his discharge he drove long haul trucks for over 50 years. Mr. Lohr was a dedicated member of Hope Baptist Church. He was devoted to his family and his church family. Mr. Lohr enjoyed singing gospel music and telling jokes.

Mr. Lohr is survived by one son, Frankie Dwayne Lohr and his wife Tammy of Thomasville, three grandchildren, Felicia Henson and fiancé Adam Lawson of Thomasville, Faith Weavil and husband Noah of Thomasville, Trinity Lohr of Archdale and two great grandchildren, Jase Lawson and Emilia Lawson. He is also survived by two siblings Earl Lohr and wife Florence and Judy Johns and husband Glen all of Texas.

Funeral services for Mr. Lohr will be held 11 am Wednesday, October 15, 2025, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale with the Reverend Steve McSwain officiating. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will greet friends Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 6 until 8 pm.
