John Charles Solt Sr.

John Charles Solt, Sr., age 80, of Currituck, NC died at his home on Sunday, January 4, 2026. Born in Washington, DC, on January 16, 1945, to the late Allen Frederick Solt, Sr. and Elizabeth Henrietta Young Solt, he was the beloved husband of Madeline Paulette Davis Solt. John was a devoted husband and father, living a life marked by dedication to his family, his work, and his community. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy, retiring after 20 years of active-duty service, and continued employment with them as an equipment specialist in a civil service capacity. John was known for his diligence and commitment and took great pride in his work, contributing to his field with integrity and skill. He was a member of the Ruritan Club and a member and deacon of Providence Baptist Church in Shawboro, NC.
John's legacy is carried on by his loving wife, Madeline; his cherished daughter, Shawn Vadnais (Jack); a stepdaughter, Paulette Ayers; a stepson Gilmer Jones (Kathy); twelve grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sons, John C. Solt, Jr. and Brian Solt; his sister, Cathryn Madison; and two brothers, O. C. Butler and Allen F. Solt, Jr.
John will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering support of his family, and his steadfast work ethic. His presence will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
