John Thomas St Andrew

John Thomas St. Andrew, age 67, of Eden Prairie, passed away September 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Audrey St. Andrew; sisters Barbara (Terry) Doty and Patricia (Jeff) Duerre; in-laws James and Gladys Hemann; and brother-in-law Jim Grossman. He is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Jan; children Taylor and Anna St. Andrew; brothers-in-law Terry Doty, Jeff Duerre, and Mark (Sharon) Hemann; sisters-in-law Jody Grossman and Jean (Matt) Schriner; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Born December 10, 1957, in Minneapolis, John grew up in Fridley and graduated from Columbia Heights High School before attending Minnesota State Mankato. On August 16, 1986, he married Jan Hemann, and together they built a life in Chanhassen where they raised their family, formed lifelong friendships, and created a home rooted in love. He especially cherished the close bond he shared with Taylor and Anna as they grew into adulthood, taking great joy in celebrating their paths and accomplishments. In 2021, John and Jan moved to Eden Prairie to enjoy retirement together. John's passions filled his days-golf, Minnesota sports, travel, theater, and always planning the next adventure. A lifelong learner, he was happiest with a book, deep in research, or charting new experiences. In 2015 he realized a lifelong dream of owning a cabin in northern Minnesota, where he loved pontoon rides, evenings by the fire, and treasured time with family and friends. Those who knew John remember his kindness, generosity, quick wit, and infectious laugh. He had a gift for making people feel welcome and was always the first to extend a helping hand. He especially loved hosting, and his home became a gathering place filled with laughter, warmth, and memorable celebrations for both his extended family and close friends. His warmth and humor will remain with all who loved him. Visitation will be held at St. Hubert Catholic Community, 8201 Main Street, Chanhassen, on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 9:00-11:00 am, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am and luncheon. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum or the University of Minnesota Raptor Center.
