John Patrick Staddon

John Patrick Staddon, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025, in Leesville, Louisiana. Born on December 26, 1949 in Rensselaer, Indiana to Cecil and Mary Staddon.
A proud veteran of the United States Army where he served as a Tank Commander among other military occupational specialties (MOS) to include funeral details.
John is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Staddon of Anacoco, three devoted sons: Ronald Staddon and wife Cheryl of Anacoco; Tracy Staddon of Gainesville; Brian Staddon also from Gainesville; along with his cherished daughter Julie Martin and her husband Toddy of Leesville. He leaves behind six adoring grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren who will carry forward his legacy through their own lives. He is also remembered fondly by his sister Susie Pickett and her husband Steve from Brook Indiana.
John was preceded in death by his brother Robert Staddon and sisters Carrie Hendricks and Billie Jo Bretzinger.
Beyond being an exemplary soldier and loving patriarch, John had passions that defined him-a true lover of dirt track racing. He found solace in nature through hunting. A tinkerer at heart-whether it was fixing engines or crafting projects-he approached each task with curiosity that inspired those around him.
Graveside services will be held on Friday March 28th at 1:30 P.M., at Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville where Bro. Matt Warren will officiate this final farewell honoring John's remarkable journey here on earth. Prior to this service there will be visitation held at Mount Carmel Baptist Church located in Florien starting at 9:00 A.M until noon allowing loved ones time together reflecting upon cherished moments spent together over years gone past.
As we gather to celebrate John's extraordinary life let us remember not just what he accomplished but how deeply he loved-and may we strive daily towards living our lives as fully as he did-with passion for our pursuits while treasuring those closest to us always.
