Stanley, John "Tom" Thomas, 68, passed away July 6th, 2024.
Tom worked for Kroger in the meat department and retired after 53 years of service, he was an aquatic fitness instructor at the YMCA, along with being a volunteer firefighter and EMT.
He is preceded in death by both his parents, Jim and June Stanley.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Judy Vermillion Stanley; son, James Stanley; step daughter, Stephany Edelen (Doug); step son, Donnie Vermillion (Jessica); also 3 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren; sister, Margo Luckett (Tony Zena); nieces, Carrie Norris (Mark), Casey Bayne (Zack), and Maggie Luckett; 6 great-nieces; and 2 great-nephews.
Visitation will be held 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20th at Joseph E. Ratterman & Son Funeral Home, 7336 Southside Dr., with celebration of life service starting at 2 p.m.

I remember the first time I met Tom and my thoughts were, "does this man ever slow down?" Tom was adventurous, outgoing and compassionate. He will be missed by so many but we must remember that we will always have the memories.
