John Leslie Stansberry Jr., age 58, of Amargosa Valley, Nevada, passed away on December 19, 2025.
John was born on March 6, 1967, in Orange, California, to John L. Stansberry and Nola Jurries Stansberry. He was lovingly raised by his aunt, Betty Taylor Yang.
John dedicated his working years to the trucking industry. On November 6, 1999, he married the love of his life, Paula. Together, they shared 26 years of partnership, adventure, and laughter. Their love was the kind that could light up a room, filled with mutual respect, humor, and a shared passion for life. They were true soul mates, always supporting each other through life's ups and downs and creating countless cherished memories together.
John enjoyed the outdoors, including trap shooting, archery, jeeping, and shooting guns. He also loved street bikes and motorcycle drag racing, along with remote-controlled cars, truck and car shows. He brought humor to everything, including his acting at Bonnie Springs, where he famously played a deputy who was caught in an outhouse explosion-pants down and all.
John loved his friends and the people around him. He believed life was better with good company, good laughs, and someone to give a hard time. His sense of humor often involved making people a little uncomfortable-but always in a way that made everyone laugh and remember him fondly.
John is survived by his wife, Paula Stansberry of Amargosa Valley, Nevada; his aunt, Betty Yang of Las Vegas, Nevada; his stepchildren, Letitia Sargent of Henderson, Nevada; Greg Sargent and wife Trisha of Amargosa Valley, Nevada; Jeremy Sargent of Henderson, Nevada; and his grandchildren, Shelby, Holley, and Holden Sargent.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John Stansberry and Nola Jurries Stansberry
