Mr. John Thomas Stephens, Jr. , 69, of Hickory, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Trinity Village in Hickory, following a period of declining health. John was born on March 29, 1950 in Salzburg, Austria to the late John Thomas "Jack" Stephens, Sr. and Katie Robinson Stephens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Matthew Stephens. Survivors include his daughter, Kaddie Kade Sanders and husband Dan of Fort Myers, Fl; two granddaughters, Brianna Hall and husband Brandon of Anderson, SC and great grandchildren, Ayden and Sully Hall, and Emilie Edwards and husband Justin of Jacksonville, NC and great grandson, Wyatt Edwards; long-time friends and care takers, Darla Marshall Stephens and Nancy Marshall; aunts, Louise Glasbrook, Virginia Starnes, Beulah Stephens, and Margurite Polson; uncle, Richard Stephens; numerous cousins; best friend and brother in Christ, Joseph Goldman; and fur babies, Maggie, Jasmine, Tiny, and Jewelz. A graveside memorial service will be held 12:00PM Friday, April 19, 2019 at Burke Memorial Park . In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Darla Stephens at 77 Pleasant Gardens Dr, Taylorsville, NC 28681 to assist with funeral expense.
