John R. " Johnny " Stivers. age 61, of Oquawka, Illinois; passed away at 12:19 pm on Tuesday October 22, 2024 at the University of Chicago Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Johnny was born on December 29, 1962 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the son of John R. " Jack " and Rilla C. Lefler Stivers. He was raised in Monmouth where he attended local schools and attended Union High School. John and his brother Joe and their family, worked with their father Jack Stivers doing construction locally and roofing many places in Monmouth and the area. Johnny enjoyed actually using a hammer and a nail to do his work. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching drag racing and was a big fan of John Force. He was an expert at cooking on the grill. He is survived by Vicki Smith ( Vicki thank you for everything you have done for all the Stivers boys and continue to do. )
His two sons, Nathan & "Abby" Stivers of Oquawka, Illinois and Joshua Stivers Sr of Sparland, Illinois.
Nephew Devin & Jamie Stivers. Susan Wright, his sister & her husband Robert Wright of Oquawka, Illinois also survives. There are three grandchildren surviving him.
"Aiden Stivers, Joshua Stivers Jr, & Grace Stivers. " Johnny is preceded in his death by his parents and his brother, Joe.
Cremation has been accorded in Chicago and at the present, no services has yet been arranged. A memorial fund is being arranged for the North Henderson County Ambulance Service P.O.
