John Strobel

John Strobel, 86, of North Wales, died peacefully at his home on Monday, July 8, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late Edith Strobel, who passed September 18, 2020. John adored his wife, "Betsy," and the family they raised together.
Born June 19, 1938 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Alfred and Helen (Abe) Strobel.
Mr. Strobel earned an associate's degree from Temple University. He began his career as a mechanical engineer, rising through the ranks to become branch and regional manager at Siemens Building Technologies in Blue Bell. John served the company for 44 years until his retirement in 2003.
He was a longtime, dedicated member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lansdale. He also enjoyed volunteering with the North Penn Marching Knights.
Earlier in life, John served in the Air National Guard. His hobbies included fishing and boating. He was a kind and generous man who loved to make others laugh, especially his grandchildren. He displayed a witty personality and delighted in sharing humorous stories with servers, doctors, receptionists, and any other unsuspecting person who happened to come in contact with him.
Survivors include his children, John S. Strobel (Karen) of Hatfield, Karen L. Shipe of Bechtelsville, Tracey L. Tupper (Craig) of Limerick, and Nicole M. Gordon (Rob) of Bayville, NJ; 13 grandchildren, Jaimie (Derek), Zak (Cassandra), Kacy (Andy), Madison (Drew), Kyle, Jesse, Alexa, Joshua, Jack, Henry, Amber, Rachel, and Mackenzie; four great-grandchildren, Aiden, George, Shelby, and Giulia with two more on the way; and a brother, Alfred Strobel (Carole) of Rydal.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Spaeth; and son-in-law, Richard Shipe.
Relatives and friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 W. Main St., Lansdale, followed by the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in the church columbarium. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
