John Strown, 74, born on November 19, 1951, in
Alice, Texas by Corine King Miller and John Strown Jr., and passed away in
Baytown, Tx January 13, 2026.
John lived a life filled with passion, creativity, and boundless love for his family and the natural world. A devoted grandfather, John's grandchildren were his pride and joy. He always had a prize or something special tucked away for them, delighted in their smiles and laughter. His youthful spirit made him a beloved companion to the youngest members of his family.
John was a true outdoorsman who found peace in hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature. Something of an animal whisperer, he had a special way with creatures great and small-from the raccoons that visited his home to his cherished Pomeranians, Pistachio and Darla. Animals seemed to sense his gentle, kind heart.
A passionate historian, John brought the past to life through miniatures and historical reenactments, sharing his love of history with anyone who would listen. His creative mind also drew him to mysteries and puzzles, always seeking the next intriguing story to unravel.
Soft-spoken and humble, John had a gift for making others feel at ease. He was never one to judge, instead offering understanding and a listening ear. His repertoire of jokes and stories could brighten any gathering, and his warmth touched everyone he met.
John leaves behind a legacy of kindness, wonder, and unconditional love. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, family, friends, and all who knew him.
