John Summers Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gardner Funeral Home, Runnemede on Dec. 30, 2025.
John A. Summers passed away on December 25, 2025, of Bellmawr, formerly of Pitman, at the age of 60. Beloved husband of the late Dorothea Summers (nee Filachek). Proud father of Tabitha Summers, Sabrina Summers, and the late Johnathan E. Summers. Dear brother of Russel "Russ" Summers and the late Thomas Summers. Survived by his mother in law Dorothea Filachek and many nieces and nephews. John also leaves behind his two beloved cats Jonesy and Pretty Girl.
John loved sharing his passion for hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He always enjoyed a good hunting trip up the mountains. Baseball was his favorite sport. Some of his happiest memories were playing catch with his son. He was always happy to offer baseball advice to his son, nieces, and nephews. He also loved playing darts.
John will be remembered for his silly sense of humor and his unwavering work ethic as a hardworking plumber. He believed in honest work and doing the job right the first time. He took pride in his trade and always brought smiles to those around him with his quick wit.
John never missed a chance to brag about his children. Happily sharing how proud he was of their accomplishments, no matter how big or small. He will be missed dearly.
There will be a visitation on Tuesday, January 6, at Gardner Funeral Home - Runnemede, from 2pm to 3pm. A memorial service will follow at 3pm. Interment will be private at the request of the family.
