John is survived by his wife, Shirley (Bruce) Sweigert; children, John Joseph Sweigert (Robin), Mary Henthorne (Mike), Jessie Howard, Virginia Leon, Melissa Rajcon (Dave), Darla Balderrama, Carla Worrell (Donald); 19 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents and a son Christopher Sweigert.
A funeral service will be held at the graveside in the Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City, 11 am Saturday, March 21, 2026, with Pastor Jake Robinson officiating. Burial will follow the services.
Condolences may be expressed and memories shared online at corncolvinfuneralhome.com. The Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City is honored to serve John's family.
