John Bryant Traylor, Jr. passed away October 11, 2025 at the age of 84. He was born December 12, 1940 to the late John Bryant Traylor, Sr. and Rosa Ralph Lyon Traylor.
A proud alumnus of Auburn University, John graduated with a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Science, a cornerstone that laid the groundwork for his impressive career. During his tenure at Auburn he was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. For over 35 years, he dedicated himself to Turner Chevrolet, where he became synonymous with loyalty and integrity as the service manager. As "Mr. John" or "Dee" he was a beloved figure to all who visited, bringing warmth and a genuine smile that was as much a part of the dealership as the vehicles themselves.
John's life extended far beyond the realm of service management. A dedicated member of Benton Baptist Church, he played an active role in his faith community, serving as a deacon and attending church whenever the doors were open. His deep faith resonated through every aspect of his life, guiding him as a lifelong servant and friend to many. His Godly nature was evident not only in his actions but in the love and respect he earned from those around him.
Additionally, John's heart for agriculture ran deep as he worked tirelessly as a row crop and cattle farmer, often balancing this passion alongside his career at Turner Chevrolet. His harmonizing of these two worlds unveiled a man whose hands were never idle, each day spent laboring with purpose and integrity.
During his youth, John proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Captain of Armor, contributing his talents to a cause greater than himself. The values he learned from his military service—dedication, discipline, and honor—remained with him throughout his life, manifesting in the way he treated everyone he encountered.
He leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and service that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. John Bryant Traylor, Jr. will forever be remembered for his sweet spirit, strong faith, and the profound impact he made in the lives of others.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Maples "Betty" Traylor; infant daughter, Elizabeth Clayton Traylor; sister, Sandra (Mac) Champion.
He is survived by children, John Bryant (Jodi) Traylor, III, Rebekah Maples Traylor; grandchildren, Ella Traylor and Gracyn Traylor and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Benton Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Tate and Rev. Davey Lyon officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
