He is survived by his wife, Tervolia "Dottie" Troxler of Greensboro, NC; son, Phillip Jason Troxler, of Charlotte, NC (Nicole); daughters, Nina Nicole Troxler of Greensboro, NC and Brandy Lucille Troxler of Charlotte, NC (Dan); grandchildren Taylor Marie Troxler, Tristen Isaiah Troxler, Tyler Phillip Troxler, Tatum Cole Troxler, and Lucille Troxler Kennedy; aunt, Anna Hill; brother, Phillip Jerome Hatchett; a special cousin, Pearl Dick; sisters-in-law Tercolia Reaves and Gloria Haith (George); plus many other relatives and friends.
A public visitation will be held at Metropolitan United Methodist Church,1701 E Market Street in Greensboro, NC on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. The burial will take place at Lakeview Memorial Park in Greensboro. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Perry J. Brown Funeral Home in Greensboro.

I did not know John personally, but I watched him play football at Dudley High School. He was a running back and was fast as lightening. He was an inspiration to me because I played the same position just a few years after him. Sending my condolences to the family for your loss and the difficult time you are experiencing.
