John Edward Trudeau Jr, age 89, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at The Brook in West Branch, MI. He was born in Mt. Pleasant, MI on August 22,1935, to John and Louise (Salling) Trudeau Sr.

John was a proud graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School in 1953. His life journey began in the oil fields, where he spent a decade working alongside his father, gaining invaluable skills and a strong work ethic that would serve him well throughout his life. Following this, he took his talents to Lundberg Screw Products in Lansing, MI, as a machinist. In 1980, fueled by a dream and a passion for craftsmanship, he became the owner and operator of Trudeau’s Jewelers in Mt. Pleasant, a venture that allowed him to combine his love for creativity with his entrepreneurial spirit.

He was an avid golfer, often sharing laughter and good times on the greens with friends and family. His love for travel took him to many wonderful places, where he created lasting memories that he happily shared with those he loved. He lived in North Fort Myers, FL for over 30 years.

John is survived by his children, Tracee (Gary) Springer, Kim (Jay) Fredericks, and John (Susan) Trudeau III. His legacy lives on through his multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ann Trudeau, his parents, and his three siblings.

His remarkable journey on this earth has left an indelible mark, and he will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory be a blessing and a source of comfort to those he leaves behind.

The family would like to thank The Brook in West Branch and Compassus Hospice for their care and support.

Cremation has taken place, and a private family service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Isabella County Humane Society.
