John S Van Hoose

John S. Van Hoose, age 80, of Medina, Ohio, passed away on March 15, 2024. He was born to Elvin and Mae (Gullet) Van Hoose on March 6, 1944, in Paintsville, Kentucky. John served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He is a graduate of OSU in 1966 and retired as a Tire Engineer from Goodyear after over 33 years of service. John was a member of the SAR (National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution) and the Order of the Founders and Patriots of America. He was an active and devout member of Harvest Presbyterian Church for 20 years.
John is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia L. Van Hoose; his children, Amy Hendrock (Brad O'Donnell), Beth Wilkinson (Tom), and Mark Van Hoose (Julie); his 11 grandchildren; his great grandson; and his siblings, Doris Jones and Mary Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Harvest Presbyterian Church, 1095 E. Reagan Pkwy, Medina, OH 44256. Funeral service will be Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at the church. He will be laid to rest at Spring Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in John's memory to Medina County Veterans Services, 210 Northland Dr., Medina, OH 44256.
