John C. Vargo

John Vargo, age 72, of Bainbridge Township, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on January 1, 2026.

John was born on June 15, 1953, to Joseph and Ida Vargo. He grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from Benedictine High School in 1971. He proudly served in the Ohio Army National Guard and went on to graduate from Cleveland State University in 1977. John married Mary Ann in July of 1976, and together they raised two daughters.

John found great joy behind the camera, capturing meaningful moments through photography and preserving them through his love of framing. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling, listening to music, watching his favorite movie, Top Gun, and spending time with his beloved wife, daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren.

A lifelong Cleveland sports fan, John was especially passionate about the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians. Win or lose, he remained unwavering in his loyalty and support.

John is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; his daughters, Jennifer Balish (Eric) and Melissa Forsey (Ryan); and his cherished grandchildren, Luke and Charlotte Forsey.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday January 19, 2026 at 11am at the Church of the Holy Angels, 18205 Chillicothe Road, Bainbridge Township Ohio, 44023, preceded by Visitation at the church from 10-11am. After the Mass a procession will take John to his final resting place at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon, Ohio.
