Nancy J. Kaniecki, a longtime resident of
Chagrin Falls, Ohio, passed away peacefully, on January 31, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and service to others.
Born in 1938 in
Cleveland, Ohio, Nancy lived a life marked by kindness, grace, and a deep commitment to her family and community. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth L. Kaniecki, with whom she shared many cherished years together. She was also preceded in death by her parents, James and Evelyn Kocarek.
Nancy is survived by her beloved children, Kenneth (Margie), David (Kelli), and Laura (Andy), who were the pride and joy of her life. She is also lovingly remembered by her five grandchildren: Kyle (Emma), David, Madeline (Brandyn), Samantha, and Daniel (Sami), each of whom brought her immense happiness and purpose. She is also survived by her sister, Marge (Jon).
A longtime member of the Chagrin Falls United Methodist Church, Nancy's faith was an important part of her life and provided strength and comfort throughout the years.
Nancy retired from Mt. Sinai Hospital after a long and dedicated career in nursing. Her compassion and commitment to caring for others made a lasting impact on countless patients and colleagues.
Outside of her professional life, Nancy found joy in the simple pleasures that made life beautiful. She loved cooking for her family, spending quiet moments bird watching, and expressing herself through music while playing the piano.
Nancy will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her nurturing heart, and the deep love she had for her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 95 SOUTH FRANKLIN STREET,
CHAGRIN FALLS, OH. Her service will take place Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church of Chagrin Falls, 20 South Franklin Street,
Chagrin Falls, Ohio.
