John Velarde Obituary

He was preceded in death by his parents, Amadeo and Lucy Velarde, his sister Diana Segura, and his Godson/Nephew Lorenzo Cowan.
He is survived by his brother-in-law Gabriel Segura, niece Lynn Trujillo (Rob Tapia), Great nieces Deja Maxey, Viola Tapia, and Great nephew Robert Tapia Jr., as well as other family and friends.
John had a passion for riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, he spent countless hours working on his bike, and long road trips was something he enjoyed.
He was an avid Sports fan he enjoyed watching all sports, especially his favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys, the LA Lakers, and the LA Dodgers.
He enjoyed cooking, grilling, listening to music, and spending time with his family and friends.
John will be missed deeply, loved eternally, and remembered always.
There will be no service, but a Celebration of life will be set for later.
We appreciate all the condolences, thoughts, and prayers received during this time.

I met John at his place of employment, our band practices there and he always, every time , came and hung out for a quick visit. We would talk about songs from the past and concerts he'd been to. Always so kind to us, we used to tease him to join the band as our drummer when ours was absent. Now I look around waiting for him to stroll in and then remember he won't be. Thank you Lord for letting me meet John while along this journey. Soar with the angels my friend. You will be remembered fondly.
