John A. Villone, 69, of Florida, has passed away. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the City Church, 129 E. Vandalia Road, in south Jacksonville, IL with burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery in Meredosia. The family will meet with friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of the arrangements. John A. Villone went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 25, 2025. He was born September 21, 1955, in Plainfield, NJ, the son of Joseph A. Villone Jr. and Jean L. Kowalski-Villone. He married the love of his life, Colleen M. Olson-Villone on March 1, 1986, and she survives. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Jean Villone; his brothers, Joseph A. Villone III of Sebring, FL and Doug Villone of Monson, ME; a nephew, Joseph (AKA Tony) Villone V of Sebring, FL; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by his brothers, Thomas Villone (wife Dawn) of Clarkdale, AZ , Jeffrey Villone (wife Sheri) of Sebring, FL; his mother-in-law, Mildred Olson of Meredosia, IL; sisters-in-law, Judy Villone of Monson, ME, Julie Elliott (husband Jim) of Jacksonville, IL, Wanda VanHyning of Meredosia, IL, Kimberly Eilers (husband Phillip) of Jacksonville, IL, Carla Lewis (husband Norman) of Jacksonville, IL, and Sharlene Olson of White Hall, IL; brother-in-law, Matthew Olson of Jacksonville, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Johnny enjoyed carpentry work and working outdoors in the yard. He loved listening to Christian music and hearing God's Word. One of the things that seemed to make him happy was having family time. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the City Church, in Jacksonville, IL, with burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery in Meredosia. The family will meet with friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of the arrangements.
