John J. Vine, 63, of Zumbrota, MN, passed away on February 17, 2025, at his home.

John was born on December 10, 1961, in Decorah, Iowa, to Alvin and Donna (Lovstuen) Vine. He graduated from North Winneshiek High School in 1980 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Upper Iowa University.

After graduating from college, John spent a year teaching & coaching sports at North Winneshiek High School. He then went on to manage several different Foot Lockers before moving back to Decorah. For the last 20+ years he has made a career working with the labs at Mayo Clinic.

John married the love of his life, Lori Sim, on September 5, 1992, in Decorah, Iowa. Together, they created a home with their son Max, first in Decorah, IA, then Calmar, IA, then Rochester, MN, and later in Zumbrota, MN. An avid sports fan, John loved watching games and was particularly passionate about the Green Bay Packers. He could often be found cheering on his team with unwavering loyalty. In addition to his love for sports, John was inspired to learn home improvement skills from his wife Lori. He had great pride helping renovate their current home.

John's spirit of giving was evident to all who knew him. He had a heart of gold and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, making a positive impact in his community. His humor will be forever ingrained in all who knew him.

John is survived by his wife, Lori, his son, Max (Emily) Vine, father, Alvin Vine, siblings, Jeff Vine, David (Patti) Vine, Wanda (Dennis) Lawson, Pam (Randy) Renard, and Tom Vine. He is preceded in death by his mother, Donna Vine.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Home (5421 Royal Oaks Pl NW).
