Preceded in death by his parents Shirley Ann (nee Rummel) and George Vogel; and sister Debra Bodinet.
Loving father of Elizabeth (Jacob) Riebe and Kate (Gregg) Braun; proud grandfather of Emily, Madison, Jillian, Grayson, and Hudson; dear brother of Nancy (Raul) Mendoza and Donald (Christine) Vogel; caring brother in-law of Steven Bodinet; uncle and friend to many. Also survived by Julie and Paul Stein and LaDonna Norstrom who provided endless support.
John was an avid White Sox fan and enjoyed golfing. Papa John was a great Papa, never missed a sporting event, theater performance, or grandparents activity and loved stopping by for visits. He adored and loved his grandchildren, and loved talking sports, watching a game, and racing cars. He was the JJC Wolves # 1 baseball fan, attended about every game while his health allowed. John enjoyed working at the JJC basketball games, he was a true Wolf at heart. He will be missed dearly, and after his courageous battle with that monster called cancer, he is now resting in peace. He will live in our hearts forever.
