He was a graduate of Randolph School and attended The University of Alabama in Huntsville. He was a devoted member of Huntsville First United Methodist Church and devoted his time to many charities.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Valhalla Memory Gardens.

Condolences to the family. John, you always kept me on my toes when taking care of you. I will always remember when you told me that I was nice and that you liked me when I was helping you with your lunch. It truly made my day that day. You will be missed.
