John L. Wansor, Jr., age 65, died Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township NJ.
Born June 19, 1958 in Jersey City NJ, John was the son of the late John L. Wansor, Sr. and Jean Anna (Van Den Biesen) Wansor.
John was diagnosed with Autism at the age of four. He spent most of his childhood being cared for by his parents. As for his adult life, he lived in a group home sponsored by the ARC of Hunterdon in Milford, NJ.
John was well loved by those who knew him and and cared for him. At his group home, he thrived and cultivated a love of music, even traveling to New Orleans to experience the birthplace of blues and jazz. He liked watching westerns on TV, eating pizza and hanging out with his friends. He volunteered for meals on wheels, loved grocery shopping and helping his peers. His family is so appreciative of the special care and comfort he received during his residency there.
In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his sister, Jean Anne Wansor earlier this year. He is survived by his sister, Judith Mae Wansor of Lambertville NJ, his niece, Emma Agostino of Jersey City, NJ and his many friends in Milford where he lived.
A eulogy service will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. Graveside service will follow at Harlingen Cemetery in Belle Meade NJ. Friends may call Thursday afternoon beginning at 1:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
