John T. Ward, 84, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Rotary Ann Senior Living in Eagle Grove, IA. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home, 923 1st Avenue South. Graveside services will follow at 11:15 AM at North Lawn Cemetery, 2201 N. 15th Street, with Rev. Dan Kahl of Grace Lutheran Church officiating. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.

John was born January 2, 1941 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the son of Thomas C. and Frances (Sas) M. (Rydlund) Ward. John passed away on October 7th, 2025.

John’s father had a filling station and fuel delivery on Westside in Fort Dodge and John enjoyed accompanying him to work.

Later in life he resided at Oak House, Northwoods Living (later known as Opportunity Village and currently as One Vision). He worked at Northwoods Living Product and Services Facility.

John had a great love for all things mechanical especially tractors, vacuums, and lawn mowers. While at NWL, he enjoyed field trips, parties, especially the cake, attending church, learning to ride a bike and other enrichment activities. He participated in Special Olympics and medaled in shot put. He was always excited by visits from Sas with her homemade treats.

Family would like to thank the staff of Oakhouse for all their years of kindness, care, love, and support, and to Rotary Ann Senior Living in Eagle Grove for welcoming John into their home these past few months.

John is survived by Rydlund and Kaderabek cousins.
