John Warnero of Throop died Tuesday at home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years Mary Ellen Kuchmas Warnero. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late John and Vita Grace Coviello Warnero and was a graduate of Dunmore High School. Prior to retirement he was a cabinet maker. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament & Holy Cross Parish.

John's proudest achievement is his family. He loved fishing and shared that love with his friends and family. He had an extraordinary ability to fix anything that needed some attention.

Also surviving are a son John and wife Karlyn Warnero of Springville, a daughter Aimee and husband Gary Puhalla of Olyphant, his twin sister Donna and husband William Ritter of Scranton, four grandchildren Gina, Sadie, Gary, and Jordan, aunts, nieces and nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a sister Beverly Dougherty.

The family extends special thanks to those in the fields of health care that made a connection and made a difference.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at Holy Cross Church 200 Delaware Street, Olyphant. Friends may call at the church from 1200 P.M. to mass time. Interment will be private. In leiu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tom and Bob Dobreniecki Memorial Fishing Derby c/o NBT Bank 736 Main St Dickson City, PA 18519
