Thomas J. Carden Jr

Thomas J. Carden, Jr. of Dunmore passed away Monday, January 26, at Thomas Jefferson Hospital, Philadelphia. He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Amyann DeLuccie Carden. Born in Scranton on September 10, 1968, he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Eleanor Moran Carden. He was a 1986 graduate of Dunmore High School. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Dunmore.

Throughout his life, Tommy was known for his kind, gentle, and generous personality. He was known for his sense of humor, his love of music, his ability to light up any room, and his great love for his friends and family. Tommy was well known on the local music scene as one of the greatest drummers and was very proud that he was invited to play in Germany with the band "Beyond Fallen." He had a great love for the games of golf and pool. He looked forward to his Tuesday "scat matches with the guys."

Also surviving are a son, Thomas J. Carden III, and wife Sarah, of Scranton, a daughter, Victoria Lynn VanOrder, and husband Corey of Olyphant, a granddaughter, Kylah Rose, and a grandson, Paul Joseph. He also leaves behind his fur babies, Sassy, Rocky, Lucy, Archie, and Milly, whom he loved dearly.

The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to the doctors and nurses at The Cleveland Clinic, especially Dr. Lucileia Teixeira-Johnson and Dr. Emma Griffiths, as well as the staff at Thomas Jefferson Hospital and Shannon, their nurse from Traditional Home Health Care.

The funeral will be on Thursday from the Albert P. O'Donnell Funeral home, 2025 Green Ridge Street, Dunmore, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 A.M. at Saint Mary of Mount Carmel Church, 322 Chestnut Street, Dunmore. Interment Saint Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. All those attending the funeral are asked to proceed directly to the church on Thursday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to honor Tom's wishes that it be divided equally among charities that were nearest to heart.
