Deepest condolences for the closest relatives. I remember well from our trip to Ireland circa 1987, Johnny´s warmth and spirited nature. Kindest regards, Debbie Miller-Eldarrat

I had the pleasure of working for John in the early days of the Mergers and Acquisitions practice at Arthur Anderson. It was a bit of a "make your adventure" time for the team and John was perfect senior partner to lead. We had a terrific time, learned a ton, saw the world, laughed a lot and did great work. My condolences to the wonderful family and friends John leaves behind. The obituary perfectly captured the great guy I remember. - Warmly, David Wells

I have a life time of memories it seems but it was only about 20 years but it feels like a life time .
I could write all night about the memories I have of John. I've picked a few of my favourites.
We went out for a meal with 16 of us. The meal was beautiful and we had a great night! John asked for the bill, then quickly got his pen out and said to the men "that will be $84 and 11 cents each". He paid mine but I was astounded, these people weren't short of money but that was how John worked it - fairness and looking after your own was a huge part of John.
Another time, went to play Jupiter Hills Golf Club with a friend of John's and a guy who owned the VW franchise in Long Island. The VW guy had just bought a mega million dollar yacht that morning and John and I played the other pair for about $100 for the win. There was money on the table - and John went into 'win' mode. We all fought tooth and nail for 18 holes and we all loved it! John's determination showed at its best - superb! The competitiveness between these friends, for $100 gave it a real edge. It'll be no surprise to anyone that knows John that we won the game! It'll be even less of a surprise to know that put John in a great mood the rest of the day. Talk about a winning smile!
Another wee story was when we played Royal Troon and on this occasion, John didn't play that well. We had hired caddies, which are paid for at start and tipped at the end. This day, John was not in the best of golf form. After we finished the 18th hole, he started to walk off the green. The caddy called over to John saying "you've not tipped me!". With his usual quick wit and no nonsense, John quipped back "well you didn't caddy!" and walked away, never looking back. It was hilarious to everyone but John I think!
Most of my stories are of golf related and we enjoyed playing together on some of the best courses on the Britain and Ireland together. Royal Troon, Turnberry, Carnoustie, Gleneagles, Royal Port Rush, Royal County Down, Prestwick, Damahoy, Mount Juliet and more.
A LIFETIME OF MEMORIES! THANK YOU FOR THEM ALL JOHN and JEANNIE

My deepest condolences to John's family. It was a pleasure working with John over the last few years at Clinigence Holdings. He had a wealth of knowledge and I will remember our time together fondly.

We are so blessed for the greatest of memories and heartiest of laughs shared with John. His contagious smile and great wit lit up a room. And that smile only grew greater as he was surrounded by the gift of Jeanne, his kids and all his grandchildren. Our lives are richer for the time we shared. We thank for your immense kindness...your friendship is forever treasured. Love, Danny, Deirdre, Maeve & Sean
