John Charles Watrud, 78, of Lakeville passed away on October 13th, 2025.

Proceeded in death by his parents, Carlyle & Anita Watrud, and his loving wife Nancy.

He is survived by children; Lisa (Ryan) Kearney, Colleen Watrud, Amy (Corey) Patterson, grandchildren; Kayla, Autumn & Austin, siblings; Judy (Jim) Meyer, Karla (David) Buckner, Kathy (Dennis) Anderson and Joel (Julie) Watrud.

John was born in Escanaba, MI. He grew up in South Minneapolis and attended Minnehaha Academy. He married the love of his life, Nancy, in 1971 and moved to Lakeville. He was a devoted husband and father. He worked 2 jobs for many years to support his Family, started at Ben Franklin and finished his career at Voss Lighting Co. where he worked for 36 years. He lived out his strong faith with all his acts of kindness and encouraging words to all of his loving family and friends. He had a passion for many sports, he attended many football, basketball, baseball and hockey games. He enjoyed the outdoors hunting, fishing and golfing with his family and close friends. He was on golf and bowling league for over 40 years.

In 2015, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and lived his last 4 1/2 years at Beehive Homes of Lakeville. We thank The Beehive Family for their genuine and loving care.

Funeral Arrangements, White Funeral Home 20134 Kenwood Trail Lakeville, MN.

Visitation will be October 25th, 2025 at 10:00am followed by a service at 11:00 with burial at Lakeville Grove Cemetery. Lunch will be provided following burial.

Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
