John William Watson III, of Hawk Point, MO, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the age of 57. Cherished son of Joanne Watson and the late John William Watson, Jr.; devoted father of John William (Tiffani) Watson, IV; beloved husband to his “wife in the eyes of the Lord,” Martha "Marty" Benson; stepfather of Samantha Benson; dear brother of Jeffery (Kelli) Watson; loving grandfather of Olivia Watson and Lilah Watson; treasured nephew of Richard Gregory, Dawn Erlinger, Keith Gregory, Robyn Gregory, his late aunt Ruthann Dwyer, and his six late uncles, Hoyt Gregory, Charles L. Gregory, William P. Gregory, Billy E. Gregory, Denis Gregory, and Michael Gregory; uncle of Jordan Pender, Josh Watson, Reece Pender, Grace Pender, and great nephew, Jaxton Stubbs. John’s cousins and friends also cherish his memory.
John served in the United States Marines with honor and dedication and was a proud supporter of VFW Post 7560 in Hawk Point. He spent five cherished years with his beloved Marty and was known for his infectious laughter, always bringing joy to others. A devoted family man, John especially adored his grandbabies. He loved fishing, hunting, and spending time with his wide circle of friends. Despite his battle with cancer, he embraced life with unwavering positivity and a fighter’s spirit. John was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in John's name to the American Cancer Society.
