John William Wheaton, 82, passed away on October 29, 2025 in Nashville, TN. Born on May 11, 1943, in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late John Marvin Wheaton and Marie Celina Horning Wheaton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a grandchild Tatum Grace. He was of the Christian faith. He proudly served our country during the Vietnam Era.
John was a loving father and grandfather. He took great joy in spending time with his grandchildren and spoiling his family. He was an accomplished attorney and was very eager and ambitious to learn more. He could be found always helping those in need around him and spreading great joy. He was very passionate about his land and being outdoors. John was devoted to his family and was a role model to his children. He was a very smart, but witty man. He enjoyed making you laugh and seeing you smile.
John is survived by his daughter, Julie (Nakia) Tomlinson and their children Owen and Olivia of Eagleville, TN; daughter, Amber (Andrew) Burleson and their children Ava and Ashton of Knoxville, TN; brother, Charlie (Linda) Wheaton of the state of Washington; sister, Jane Little of the state of Colorado; Judy Fagan and several nieces and nephews also survive.
