John White Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Arner Funeral Chapel - Chester on Nov. 23, 2025.
John W. White, 75, of Chester, peacefully passed away after a brief illness on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the Weirton Medical Center. Born on August 31, 1950, in Steubenville, he was the cherished son of the late Loraine and Dorothy G. Clark White. A proud graduate of Oak Glen High School, Class of 1968, John served his country honorably in the United States Army during Vietnam while earning a bronze star and later dedicated his career as a skilled pipefitter at Weirton Steel. John was an active member of the VFW Post #6450, American Legion#121, and DAV, embodying the spirit of camaraderie and service.
He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was the thrill of the casino or the satisfaction of cutting grass. Above all, John will be profoundly missed by his loving wife, Dorothy Schon White, with whom he shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. He is survived by his devoted sons, Steven John White (Nan) and Richard Dale White (Kim); his treasured grandchildren, Connor, Andrew, Daniel, and Brandon White; his beloved step-grandchildren, Gage and Ethan; and his dear brother, Ron White (Kathy) of New Cumberland.
A celebration of John's remarkable life will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at the Arner Funeral Chapel at 1:00 PM, presided over by Pastor Tim Gola. Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation two hours prior to the service, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, to share memories and honor a truly extraordinary man.
