Obituary published on Legacy.com by Goble Funeral Home & Crematory on Apr. 27, 2025.
John William Wiant, age 81 of Clarion, died Apr. 25, 2025 at the Clarion Health Care.
John was born 15 August 1945 in Warren, Ohio, he was the son of the late Robert W. Wiant Sr and Eleanor (June) Davis Wiant. Attending Clarion High School, he graduated in 1961. John then attended culinary school, meeting his future wife there. John Married Darlene Fay Haines in Sunbury, Pa. on 5 June 1965, she preceded him in death on May 28, 2010.
John was baptized at Grace Lutheran Church, Clarion, Pa in 1945, rejoining the congregation after he moved back to Clarion after Darlene's death in 2010.
In 1965 John worked as manager of the luncheonette at Colonial Fair, Shamokin Dam and later was a bread moulder for Butter Krust Baking Co, Inc. for thirty-two years, also working for Holsum Bakery while living in Sunbury. After his retirement, John worked as a crossing guard and at the post office in that area.
He thoroughly enjoyed entertaining young and old during the holidays, serving as Clarion Mall's Santa as well as appearing at private events. Knowing that Santa Claus needed help to reach out to all of the kids at Christmas time, John volunteered to be one of Santa's special helpers, a task he dearly loved.

Pletcher of Clarion, and a brother Paul Wiant of Lompoc, Ca also surviving him.
