John Glenn Wilson, Jr. passed away peacefully with his family beside him on November 20, 2025 at the age of 85. Glenn was born in Bastrop, Louisiana, the son of John Glenn Wilson, Sr. and Josephine Bernadette Arndt.
He was a proud graduate of DeLaSalle High School and Southeastern Louisiana University, earning a degree in Business. After college he worked for Louisiana Gas Service Company and then Louisiana Power and Light Company, Entergy. He started at LP&L as a Right of Way Agent, Division Representative for Southeastern Division, Riverlake District Representative, Manager of the Buras District, Lockport District and retiring as a Manager of Political Affairs. He attended many St.
Charles Parish, St. Bernard Parish, and the City of Kenner Council meetings. He was instrumental in acquiring the needed bonds for the construction of the Waterford Nuclear plant. After retiring, he catered many events. His passion was cooking South Louisiana meals. He enjoyed his garden and would always plant more so he could share with family and friends. He never met a stranger and always would ask if they knew Justin Wilson, the Cajun chef. He would then tell them he knew him well. That Justin was his uncle and his father taught Justin how to cook. And then would say, "I guarantee".
He enjoyed baseball and attended many Pelican baseball games in New Orleans. He was an avid fisherman. He loved taking his boat to South Louisiana catching redfish and speckled trout. He enjoyed catching crabs in Lake Pontchartrain and picking up soft shell crabs in the lake.
He was raised in Kenner, Louisiana and resided in Mandeville, Louisiana. After Hurricane Katrina, moved to Madison, Mississippi. He attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gluckstadt, Mississippi and was proud to be in the Knights of Columbus. He fixed many dinners for the Knights and special events at church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Roger Dixon, sister-in-law, Sharen Wilson, Lurry David Lacour, brother-in-law and step-son, Jonathan David Juneau.
He is survived by his wife whom he loved, Grace Walsdorf, children Alyson Blythe (Trey), Christopher Juneau (Julie), three beautiful grandchildren, Victoria, John David, and Zoe Juneau, sister, Shirley Lacour, brother James Douglas Wilson (Terraine) and many nieces and nephews.
Thank you to the compassionate care at St. Dominic's Hospital, Baptist Re-Habilitation Hospital-Madison and The Madison Health and Rehabilitation along with the loving support of Pax Hospice.
Visitation will be on December 2, 2025 from 10am – 11am followed by the funeral mass from 11am - noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Gluckstadt, 127 Church Road, Madison, Mississippi.
In lieu of flowers, offer masses in his memory or donations for research for Alzheimers.
