John R. Wolford, age 93, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 27, 1932, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, the son of Ray Goodale and Laura Leona (Squires) Wolford. John proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and retired in 1995 after 44 years of employment with Cooper Energy Services. John and his wife Mona spent many summers playing golf at Hiawatha Golf Course and later spent many winters at Myrtle Beach relaxing at the beach or playing golf. They also enjoyed traveling with other couples around central Ohio trying out different golf courses.
John was a loving and devoted husband; father and grandfather and he always liked watching his kids participate in their activities while they attended Fredericktown local schools. He was a hard worker at home and always provided for his family.
