Johnalec Hubbart

Johnalec G-Artis Hubbart, age 59, of Erie, PA, peacefully transitioned from this life on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

Johnalec, who went by Alec to his family, was born in St. Louis, MO, in 1966. He moved to Erie, PA during his early childhood and graduated from McDowell High School in 1987. He became a part of the Supportive Living Services community in 1993.

Alec lived a full and happy life. He was an extremely social person who thrived in the company of others. He had a special way of making people feel welcome, seen, and appreciated. He always brought light, laughter, and love to every interaction he had. Early on, Alec enjoyed attending sports games and going to various social outings, including the mall, festivals and fairs, and dances. As he grew older, he preferred more of the comforts of home, such as watching his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers play on TV. He also loved to watch other sports, game shows, and soap operas. He could usually be found researching a variety of things on his computer and, being a bit of a foodie, he always appreciated a good meal.

Alec was preceded in death by his parents, Artter and Cora Lee Hubbart, Sr. He is survived by four brothers, Artter "Pete" Hubbart, Artter Hubbart, Jr., Daniel (Nicole) Hubbart, and David Hatcher; three sisters, Alayna Hubbart, Evelyn Hubbart, and Crystal Livingston; as well as his aunt, Patricia Brunson, who made sure he always had a home to visit for the past 40 years. He also leaves behind many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful friends, including his SLS family, to cherish his memories. He will remain forever in our hearts.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday, October 4th, at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Road, Erie PA, from 9 am until the time of his Funeral Service at 11 am. Burial will follow at the Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
