"In Loving Memory of Johnathan Taedoo Chae June 23, 1993 – January 19, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Johnathan Taedoo Chae, who left this world on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the age of 31 in
Buford, Georgia. After facing health challenges for almost 5 years Johnathan went on to remain with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Born on June 23, 1993, in Cheongju, South Korea, Johnathan spent much of his life in Georgia, where he built a life rooted in faith, family, and a deep desire to pursue truth.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Genice Chae, and their cherished son, Isaiah Chae, who was the joy and pride of his life. Johnathan was a devoted father who delighted in teaching and spending time with Isaiah, pouring his heart into shaping a legacy of love, strength, and faith. He is also survived by his devoted and beloved parents, Darren and Jin Chae, and his brothers, Jasper and James Chae. Johnathan now rests in Heaven with his beloved daughter, Samantha Chae, whom he and his wife lost in miscarriage and whom he shared with his wife longed to be reunited with.
Johnathan's life was defined by his passion for seeking truth and sharing the love of God with everyone he encountered. A creative soul and inventor at heart, he was fascinated by life's endless possibilities, embracing new knowledge and exploring innovative ideas with a child-like-spirit of wonder and excitement.
His generosity and desire to help others reflected his character as a giver, always striving to make a difference in the lives of those around him. Johnathan never allowed a soul to pass by without telling them of God's love for them that is found in Jesus Christ and God's purpose for them while on this Earth. Above all, Johnathan valued life and family. He especially loved spending time with his wife, Genice Chae whom he expressed as his best friend and soul-mate. Their talks, apart from doing life and business together, is what Johnathan enjoyed the most. He often called her "My Love" which Genice says "I heard this so much that whenever he said my name I knew things got really serious. 'My Love' is what I will miss hearing from him the most." Genice was the first to open his heart to the possibility of there being more to his life and purpose which he really needed to know.
Johnathan Chae loved challenging others to look beyond the world they knew, encouraging them to seek the unknown and discover God's immeasurable love for them. His faith and conviction were guiding lights. During his final moments with us his attention was focused on Psalms 46:10; Be still and know that I am God. This scripture is what brought peace to Johnathan as his heart was prepared to once again be in the arms of his Father in Heaven.
Johnathan's legacy lives on in the love he gave, the truths he shared, and the lives he touched. He will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son and brother, and faithful servant of God.
Well done Johnathan."
