Johnathan Patrick "John" "Patch" McConnell, 57, died December 15, 2025, at Meridian Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Wichita. He was born June 26, 1968, in Hutchinson, to Dale Elden and Donna Sue (Ruble) McConnell.

John graduated from Nickerson High School in 1986. He attended a vo-tech auto mechanic school, Hutchinson, between 1986 and 1987, earning his certification as a small engine mechanic. John worked at Ely's, Great Plains Motorsports and most recently at Outdoor Power Sports, working in the small engine mechanic industry for over 40 years. He enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle and drag racing. John loved the outdoors. He would spend hours at the Little Arkansas River collecting items, as well as hunting, fishing and bow-hunting.

On November 7, 1992, he married Debra "Debbie" Welch, at Saint Teresa Catholic Church, Hutchinson. They shared over 12 years of marriage, prior to their divorce.

John is survived by: his sister, Shannon Redenbaugh; nieces and nephews, Sarah Stucky, Shelby (Ethyn) Hafner, Kren (Curtis) Littrell, Katie (Michael) Young; great-niece and great-nephews, Hayden, Liam and Brinley Litrell, Jacob and Korbin Young; brother-in-law, Tracy Everhart; ex-wife and friend, Debbie McConnell, all of Hutchinson; as well as a host of cousins and many aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter, Casey McConnell; sister, Kelly Everhart; brother, Michael McConnell; and brother-in-law, Arlan Redenbaugh.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Elliott Mortuary.
