Johnathan Small Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Evergreen Funeral Home on Mar. 13, 2026.
Johnathan Craig Small, age 68, passed away on February 26, 2026. He was born on January 10, 1958, in Denver, Colorado, to his parents, Kenneth William Small and Roselynne Joyce Clement, who preceded him in death.

John proudly served in the United States Navy beginning in 1978 as an Operations Specialist Second Class (OS2). His service reflected his dedication, loyalty, and strong sense of responsibility-qualities he carried throughout his life.

John married the love of his life, Kelly, in 1982. Together they built a beautiful family. In 1985, they welcomed their daughter, Malorie, and in 1991, their son, Cody completed their family. John's greatest joy and highest priority was always his family, whom he loved deeply and devoted himself to completely.

In addition to his love for his family, John enjoyed many hobbies, including bowling league, softball league, water skiing, and gambling. He was also a devoted Denver Broncos fan and proudly superstitious on game days, always crossing his fingers in hopes of bringing his team good luck. He also had one memorable - though less than successful - ski trip that became a cherished family story. His laughter, dedication, and larger-than-life heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

John is survived by his loving wife, Kelly Small; his daughter, Malorie Small (Jeramie Lambert); his son, Cody Small; his brother, Jeff Small (Diane Small); his sister, Chelle Padilla; his brother, Kenny Cromwell (Karen Cromwell); his brother, Chris Small (Tara Small); his mother-in-law, Patricia Small; his extended brothers and sisters; and his nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

A Celebration of Life will follow immediately after at TJ's Sports Bar & Grill.

7893 W Jewell Ave, Lakewood, CO 80232

We would love for anyone who knew him to join us to celebrate his life, share memories, and remember the incredible man he was.
