Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hurley Funeral Home - Pleasanton on Mar. 9, 2026.
Johnathon Ruben "Johnny" Hilburn, 68, passed away on March 4, 2026. Born on June 12, 1957, Johnny lived a life marked by hard work, laughter, and a deep love for his family and the outdoors.

Johnny was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. He had a natural talent for working with his hands and took great pride in building and fixing things. Whether he was working on a project, helping someone with a repair, or spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, With his brother from another Mother Ralph. Johnny found joy in the simple and meaningful parts of life.

Family was always at the center of Johnny's world. He valued time spent together and created many memories with those he loved. In the last year of his life, he especially enjoyed playing bingo with his sister Jan and sharing laughter with family and friends. One of his favorite pastimes was playfully giving his sister-in-law Debbie a hard time-always in the most loving and lighthearted way-which became a source of many smiles and fond memories.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Ruben Hilburn; his mother, Eva Evans; his brother, Eddie Hilburn; and his infant sister, Beatrice Hilburn, and his loving niece Carlea Jenkins.

He leaves behind his loving siblings: Jan Jenkins and her husband Billy; Barbara Hilburn; Mary Hilburn; and Lila Stevens and her husband David. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

Johnny will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love for the outdoors, his sense of humor, and the deep love he had for his family. Though he may be gone from our sight, his spirit will live on through the stories, laughter, and memories shared by those who knew and loved him.

He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will continue to bring comfort and smiles to those loved him.

A private celebration of Johnny's life will be held at a later date.
