Johnis Mae Ross

Sister Johnis M. Ross was born in Ewing Texas and came to Biloxi as a child with her parents. She attended Our Mother of Sorrows Elementary School, and M.F. Nichols High School before relocating to Newark New Jersey where she became a Registered Nurse, graduating with a degree from Essex County Community College. She returned to Biloxi, later retired and was an active community servant. She was a lifetime member of the Biloxi NAACP and lifelong member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, well-loved by so many.

She was the mother of four children, two who preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters (Tami and Connie) and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great grand.

Services for Johnis Mae Ross will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 255 Main St., in Biloxi, MS, V: 10 a.m. and S: 11 a.m. The services are entrusted to MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME.
