Johnnie “Ernie” Allen of Lubbock passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at the age of 80. She was born May 25, 1944, in Lubbock to the late Jasper and Jeraldine “Babe” Moyers. Ernie grew up in Lubbock where she attended Lubbock High School. She married Don Allen on May 21, 1965, in Lubbock. Ernie will be remembered as being a hardheaded stubborn people person who never met a stranger. She had the biggest heart and worried and cared for everyone before she worried about herself. Her greatest passion was her family, children and most importantly her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Don; children, John Allen and wife Shelley of Lubbock and Stephanie Samuels of Austin; brother, Billy Moyers and wife Paula of Colorado; and grandchildren, Jay, Kimberly, Saige, Isiah, Jeremiah, Krista, Elijah, and her loving great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2:00-7:00 pm Friday, October 18, 2024, at Combest Family Memorial Chapel with the family receiving friends from 5:00-7:00 pm. The family invites you to join them on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 2:00-6:00 pm on the Patio at Rodeo 4, 5402 4th Street for a time of celebration.
