Johnnie Maurine Bell, 94, passed away peacefully at her home in DeKalb, Texas, on March 30, 2026.

Maurine was born on November 5, 1931, in Garrison, Texas to the late John W. Shipp and Jewel L. Ray. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Christy Wise; her brother, Robert Shipp; as well as her beloved husband of fifty years, Coy Bell.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Nelda and Greg Lawing of Texarkana, Texas; her two sons, Robert W. Roseberry and his wife, Cindy, of Blanco, Texas, and Bobby Bell of DeKalb, Texas.

Maurine is also survived by her grandchildren: Kevin (Robyn) Lawing of Rome, Georgia; Colby McCullough of Simms, Texas; Corky (Michelle) Roseberry of Blanco, Texas; Marty Sanford of Tomball, Texas; and Jennifer (Andy) Anthony of Texarkana, Texas. She also leaves behind nine great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, who will cherish her memory.

A longtime member of Westside Missionary Baptist Church in New Boston, Texas, Maurine's faith was an important part of her life and a source of strength to those around her.

Visitation will be held at Bates and Rolf Funeral Home in New Boston, Texas, on April 1st from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Pulaski Cemetery on Thursday, April 2nd, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Cade Rich officiating.
