James Harold Mills

James Harold Mills, age 85, of Mount Pleasant, Texas, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026. He was born on April 6, 1940, in Maud, Texas to Floyd Eugene and Nora Novell (Reed) Mills.

Mr. Mills spent his working days as a Lineman with General Telephone Company. He was a Master Mason and a member of Maud Lodge #859. He was also a member of Damascus Missionary Baptist Church – Mount Pleasant, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Constance "Connie" (Ripley) Mills; his son, James H. "Jamie" Mills II; his two sisters, Patricia Hillis and Brenda Reid; and one brother, Floyd Dale Mills.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Olivia Louise "Lucy" McQueen and husband James; his two grandsons, Joshua Mills and wife Jacqueline, Nathaniel Mills; his two granddaughters, Charity Williams and husband John, Autumn Lemons; 10 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services and a Masonic Lodge Ceremony will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Old Union Cemetery – Simms, Texas with Bro. Dwayne Wilson officiating and under the direction of Bates-Rolf Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 6 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Bates-Rolf Funeral Home – New Boston, Texas prior to the service.
