Obituary

Wannetta Howard Grant, age 78, of Mount Pleasant, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 29, 2026. She was born on November 24, 1947, in Mount Pleasant, Texas, to the late Eugene Howard Sr. and Dorothy Jean (Johnson) Howard.

Wannetta was a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Mount Pleasant. She was a member of Sheppard Street Church of Christ, where she joined at an early age. In her leisure time, she enjoyed fishing, playing football board games, and most of all, spending cherished moments with her children, grandchildren, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Dorothy Howard; and her brothers, Clyde Henry Grant, and Eugene Howard Jr.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her devoted husband, Robert Lee Grant Sr. of Mount Pleasant, Texas; her children, Mark Howard (Nita) of Lone Star, Texas, Stacy Grant, Dorothy Beard (Arthur), Kenneth Grant (Maryian), and Robert Grant Jr. (Debbie), all of Mount Pleasant, Texas, Tony Grant (Ieasha) of Omaha, Texas, and Terry Grant (Kee Kee) of Dallas, Texas; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; her brother, James Howard of Mount Pleasant, Texas; her sisters, Maxine Cook of Pittsburg, Texas, Augustine Veasley, Juanita Chism, Virginia Brown, and Lina Jean Howard, all of Mount Pleasant, Texas; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends.

Her legacy of love and devotion to family will forever be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
