Johnnie Brazell, age 75, passed away Saturday in a local long term nursing facility. She was the widow of Mack Brazell and the daughter of the late Wylie E. and Minnie Lindsey Ballew. She is survived by her three children, Randy Gregory, Jr., Tammy Parker (Robert) and Lorie Gregory Kee (Dean Birch); one step-son, Brady Brazell (Amanda); 17 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her step-son, Wesley Brazell; her siblings, Butch Ballew and Patsy Snipes; infant great-grand-daughter, Weslie Teter; nephew, Bruce Ballew.
Johnnie was a member of the Church of God and retired from Springs Industries. Johnnie loved visiting the mountains and visiting with her grands and great-grands. Johnnie was a huge fan and devoted supporter of professional wrestling. She attended hundreds of wrestling events here in Chester, and many cities throughout the southeastern states while traveling with her referee husband, Mack. She particularly liked Deon "Black Cat" Johnson, "Sweet Ebony Diamond", Will "Tater Chip Man" Roberts, "Honest Doug" Hawkins, and "Nature Boy" Rick Flair.
Visitation will be 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 1st at Pollard Funeral Home. Reverend Keith Hinson will conduct the funeral at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral chapel.
The family is gathering at the home of Tammy and Robert Parker, 985 Pleasant Grove Road in Chester.
