A native of Barlow Bend, Alabama and a lifelong resident of Foley, Alabama. Johnnie Brint
Goodwin, Sr., was born March 30, 1940, to Ms. Clyde Ella Smith and Mr. William Goodwin, Sr.
He left his earthly home on February 15, 2025, at Baldwin Health in Foley, Alabama. He was
preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents; Mr. Jessie Davis and Ms. Johnnie Ella
Jackson, wife; Catherine Goodwin, 2 daughters; Claudetta Golden and Ruth Lisa Stallworth, 1
son; Johnny Brint Goodwin, Jr., 3 sisters; Dorothy Goodwin, Donnia Catlin and Annie Bell
Beckham.
He received Christ at an early age and became a member of the Southside Missionary Baptist
Church under the leadership of Pastor Charles Lett. He loved participating in his church events
when and wherever he could. He served faithfully until his health failed.
He worked at Hale's Manufacture Company numerous years before finding his dream job at
Dixie Oil Rig where he worked until his retirement.
He leaves to cherish his memories 2 daughters; Pastor Alicia (Elder Charles) Odom and Ellen
(Reggie) Johnson both of Foley, AL, 5 sons; Donnie Weston, Steven Thompson, Windell
Calhoun, Christopher Knight all of Foley, AL, Anthony Watts, Sr., of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, 2
Adopted sons, Jeffery (Ann) Jemison, Sr. of Foley, AL, and Larry (Brenda) Jemison of Fairhope,
AL, 10 granddaughters; Tiffany, Quinneisha, LaTonja, LaTasha (Patton), Catherine, Arneshia,
Carneshia, Australia, Anthonesha and Nyheria, 17 grandsons; Eddie, Jr., Anthony(Duke),
Travis, Brint, Xavier, Ricky (Grace), Allen, Alexander, Jamil, Quentin, Sr., Frederick (Titania),
Gregory, Windell, Anthony, Jr., Micheal, and Derrick, Dontavion. 14 great-granddaughters, 16
great-grandsons, a host of nieces, nephew's other relatives and friends. Three devoted friends
Anderson Quaites, III, Harry Knight and Sammie Lee Jones.
