Our Loving Heavenly Father returned for Mr. Johnnie Cleveland Woodruff, 70, of Morganton, North Carolina. He passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Grace Hospital, following a short period of declining health. Johnnie was born on June 19, 1950 in Buncombe County to the late Shuff Hunter Jr. and Georgia Woodruff. He was previously employed at Henredon Furniture in the finishing department. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Strawn; three brothers: Odell Hunter, Benjamin Hunter and Donald Hunter; and one grandson, Tevan Davis. Survivors include his wife, Charlie Mae Davis; one son, Anthony Davis; three brothers: Shuff Hunter III (Sarah) and Jimmy Hunter (Edith) both of Morganton, NC, Greg Hunter (Cheryl) of Henderson, NV; and one sister, Shirley Carson of Morganton, NC. Also surviving are two grandchildren: Marcus and Natyri Davis; three great grandchildren, a special niece/caregiver: Sally Hunter and four best friends: Travis Deaton, Mike Mathis, Robert Murphy, and John Corpening. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, with Revs. Wayne A. Johnson, Willard Watkins, Benjamins Douglas Culbertson, and Minister Vernadean Starks officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh AME Church in Morganton. The family will receive friends from on Friday from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
