Funeral services celebrating the life of Johnny Lemiel Baugh, 79, of West Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, with Bro. Wally Reitzel officiating. Interment will follow immediately after at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. The visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service.
Mr. Baugh was born on June 18, 1945, in Eros, Louisiana, and passed away on July 26, 2024, in West Monroe, Louisiana.
Lemiel worked at Bancroft Bag for forty years before retirement. He loved the Lord and his family. He pastored a number of Baptist churches in the local area. He loved working in his garden and being outdoors. He was a devoted member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife of fifty-eight years, Lela Mae Waggoner Baugh; his parents, Richard and Mary Baugh; four brothers; and six sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Tammie Baugh West and her husband, Mitchell; son, Stephen Baugh; granddaughters, Krystal West Crowe and Whitney West; great grandchildren, Brylee Simpson, Christian Savana, and Devyn Coleman; four sisters, Linette Wheelis, Debbie Baugh, Hollie Alford, and Teresa Ferguson; and two brothers, Odell Baugh and Norman Baugh.
The pallbearers will be David Smith, Dustin Baugh, Brian Baugh, DeWayne Purvis, Chris Osbon, and Daniel Simpson.
