Johnny O. Bushnell, 66, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 4, 1957, in Terrell, TX to Mr. Joseph Grayson McGaha and Mrs. Katherine Ann DeMasters, and later adopted by Mr. Samuel Owens Bushnell. He attended Forney High School and upon graduation, joined the United States Air Force where he served from 1975-1979.
Throughout his life, Johnny was known for being the life of the party, his witty demeanor, and overall sense of compassion to help others. He was so much to so many and touched the lives of various people through his love of music, the great outdoors, sheet metal fabrication, and his passion for The Lord.
Johnny will be remembered for his big blue eyes, his famous Wrangler shirts, and his love for John Deere tractors. His ability to bring vitality into any room and his resilience in life impacted all who had the privilege of knowing him. He had a profound love and joy for his daughters and The Lord.
He is survived by his daughters, Sarah Gonzalez and husband Saul Gonzalez of Prosper, TX, Emily Poole and husband Tony Poole of Eustace, TX; grandchildren, Chloe Reid (25) and husband, Skylar Reid of Tyler, TX, Camye Pasqua (22) and husband, Logan Pasqua of Payne Springs, TX, Alani Batangan (18), Sofia Gonzalez (14), and Sebastian Gonzalez (7) of Prosper, TX; great-grandchild, Jonah Reid (7 mths); father, Samuel Owens Bushnell and wife, Yvonne Bushnell of Mesquite, TX, sisters, Carol Hafertepe of Dallas, TX, Deborah Schneider and husband, Ronald Schneider of Greenville, TX; brothers, Michael Bushnell and wife, Tiffany Bushnell of Rockwall, TX, Samuel Bushnell and wife, Holly Bushnell, of Mesquite, TX, Eric Yingling and wife, Tamara Yingling of Farmersville, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his birth parents, Joseph McGaha, and Katherine Yingling.
